SUPER Green Lane (SGL) importers expect another strong performance this year due to strong regional and local demand for their products.

Business prospects are particularly positive in the first quarter, thanks to the coming 2010 national elections which are seen to perk up local demand and increase the public’s purchasing power, SGL importers association president Jimsy Macawile told PortCalls.

“We are looking at a 100-120% volume and sales growth within the first quarter of the year compared to our anemic figures in the same period last year,” Macawile said.

Among products in strong demand are electronics and home appliances.
