  • International forwarders operating in the Philippines processed 2.5% more air cargo in the first nine months of 2024 to 233.807 million kilograms from 228.042 million kg year-on-year
  • Nippon Express Philippines remains the top international airfreight forwarder in terms of volume handled, accounting for 36.281 million kg or 15.52% of the total
  • Consolidations grew 1.8% to 100.553 million, breakbulking was up 4.2% to 91.806 million kg while direct shipments grew 0.7% to 41.449 million kg

International forwarders in the Philippines processed 2.5% more air cargo in the first nine months of 2024 to 233.807 million kilograms from 228.042 million kg in the same period last year, according to latest data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).

Consolidations, which accounted for 43% of the total, grew 1.8% to 100.553 million kg from 98.771 million kg.

Breakbulking represented 39.27% or 91.806 million kg, up 4.2% from 88.114 million kg, while direct shipments grew 0.7% to 41.449 million kg from 41.158 million kg.

CAB noted that only 93.53% of accredited international airfreight forwarders submitted complete reports against 93.09% for the same period in 2023.

Nippon Express Philippines Corp. remains the top international airfreight forwarder in terms of volume handled, accounting for 36.281 million kg or 15.52% of the total for the period in review.

Federal Express Pacific likewise maintained its rank at second place with 16.554 million kg or 7.08%.

Moving up to third place was Schenker Philippines, Inc. with 11.882 million kg or a share of 5.08%, followed by Kintetsu World Express (Phils.), Inc., which climbed two spots to fourth with 11.614 million kg or 4.97% of the total.

Both jumping two places up from 2023 were U-Freight Phils., Inc. at fifth with 11.036 million kg or 4.72%, and Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc. at sixth with 10.090 million kg or 4.32% of the total.

Down two spots to seventh place was DSV Air & Sea, Inc. with 9.941 million or 4.25%, followed by Kuehne + Nagel Inc., which fell one place to eight with 7.316 million kg or 3.13%.

DHL Express (Phils.) Corp. rose one rank to ninth, handling 7.060 million or a 3.02% share.

Climbing five places to 10th was CEVA Logistics Phils., Inc. with 6.061 million or a share of 2.59%.

From 11th to 20th places were:

  • DHL Global Forwarding (Phils.), Inc. (5.805 million kg)
  • UPS Delbros Transport, Inc. (5.744 million kg)
  • Expeditors Philippines, Inc. (5.426 million kg)
  • 247 Cargo Services Inc. (5.289 million kg)
  • Trans-Global Consolidators Inc. (5.037 million kg)
  • UPS SCS (Philippines), Inc. (4.296 million kg)
  • Maersk Logistics and Services Philippines, Inc. (3.477 million kg)
  • Polaris Express Logistics Corp. (3.132 million kg)
  • AAI Worldwide Logistics Inc. (2.573 million kg)
  • Dimerco Express Phils, Inc. (2.329 million kg)

Completing the top 30 list were:

  • Kornet Express, Inc. (2.267 million kg)
  • Morrison Express Philippines Inc. (2.255 million kg)
  • Sincerity International Cargo Services Corp. (2.137 million kg)
  • NNR Global Logistics (Phils) Inc. (2 million kg)
  • LX Pantos Philippines, Inc. (1.941 million kg)
  • Hellmann Worldwide Logistics – Philippines Inc. (1.771 million kg)
  • ATR International Freight Inc. (1.719 million kg)
  • Royal Cargo Inc. (1.697 million kg)
  • Airspeed International Corp. (1.587 million kg)
