The Isla Group has expanded its logistics capabilities with the launch of the vessel PURE GRACE, a dedicated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier developed in partnership with Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL).
The vessel, formally blessed and named in a ceremony marking the start of operations, will serve as Isla Group’s official carrier for transporting Solane LPG across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The deployment is expected to enhance the safe, reliable and timely delivery of LPG products to households and businesses nationwide.
“As I look around and see our partners from Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics, one thing is immediately clear: there is a strong cultural alignment between Magsaysay and the Isla Group. We share the same values–professionalism, a deep respect for safety, and a commitment to following the highest standards and procedures,” Jose Ricardo Delgado, executive committee chairman of Isla Group, said in a press release.
“These principles are not just words for us; they are the very foundation of a successful partnership. Today is especially meaningful because we are not just launching a vessel–we are launching a new chapter in how we serve our customers nationwide,” Delgado added.
MSL’s Tankers Division, through Islas Tankers Seatransport Corporation, will manage the vessel.
The shipping firm cited its decades of maritime experience and track record in tanker operations as key to supporting Isla Group’s expanding supply chain needs.
“For many years, the Isla Group has been serving Filipino communities across the nation, ensuring households and industries have access to safe, reliable, and high-quality Solane LPG. Today, we are privileged to become part of that mission,” said Jesse Maxwell, president and CEO of MSL.
“We are excited and proud to begin this long-term partnership through this vessel and the critical services it will provide,” Maxwell added.
Isla Group said the deployment of PURE GRACE represents a strategic step in strengthening its internal logistics chain and ensuring uninterrupted product supply.
Beyond serving the company’s requirements, the vessel is also envisioned to contribute to improving LPG logistics across the broader Philippine energy sector.
Isla Group, a joint venture between Citadel Pacific Ltd. and Itochu Corporation, manufactures Solane LPG and other LPG products for household, industrial, and commercial use.
MSL is the domestic shipping and logistics arm of the Magsaysay Group, with more than 70 years of experience in ship owning and maritime operations.
