J&T Express Philippines is taking a major step toward greener logistics with the deployment of its first electric vehicle (EV) fleet in partnership with HOWO.

This initiative underscores the company’s mission to advance sustainable delivery solutions while strengthening its nationwide coverage, J&T said in a statement.

Boosting operational efficiency, the EV light trucks are equipped with a 100-kilowatt hour battery that can run up to 200 kilometers.

The vehicles are supported by an on-site charging station and are expected to avoid around 43,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions annually compared to conventional diesel trucks.

In line with J&T Express’ “Innovation in Every Delivery 2025” roadmap, the company said the EV integration marks a significant milestone in its strategy to lead the local logistics sector toward cleaner, more environmentally responsible operations.

“The expansion of our electric vehicle fleet is a significant step forward in our efforts towards sustainable deliveries” J&T Express Philippines vice president Zoe Chi said.

“HOWO’s support of our environmental endeavors is truly appreciated, and we will continue to monitor the performance of electric trucks and vehicles, as well as mobilize more initiatives in green logistics in the near future,” Chi added.

HOWO, a truck brand manufactured by China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (Sinotruk Group), provides trucks and equipment in the country. It had previously supplied a portion of J&T Express’ delivery fleet.

J&T said the integration of an EV into the fleet also represents a strategic advancement in J&T Express’ ESG (environmental, social, and governance) journey, combining energy-saving initiatives with the adoption of EVs across key markets and reinforcing the company’s commitment to faster, smarter, and more environmentally responsible logistics.
