The Asia logistics hub in Singapore of Kerry Logistics has begun operations.

The four-story facility will also serve as the regional headquarters for Southeast Asia, designed to meet growing demand from the region and Australia.

The center occupies an area measuring 34,500 square meters and offers a full range of integrated services.

“The hub will facilitate the needs of our high-end customers in the fashion and lifestyle and electronics industries. We have special areas designated for the handling of these time-sensitive and valuable products and there is a high level of security,” said Robert Tan, managing director for South Asia.

Features include ramp-up facilities for accommodating a 40-foot container with direct access to warehouse floors, minimizing the turnaround time for inbound and outbound goods.

The facility also incorporates green features such as a design that maximizes natural light and reduces the need for artificial light to save about 30 percent to 35 percent of power.
