Kintetsu World Express Philippines, Inc. (KWE Philippines) took second spot in the Top 10 major subsidiary contributors to the KWE Group in 2024. The achievement comes as the company celebrates its 27th year in the business this year.

For the 10th year in a row, KWE Philippines said it was recognized by its mother company, KWE Japan, for having “successfully contributed to the growth of the KWE Group through its outstanding efforts in maintaining excellent performance.”

KWE Philippines also recently landed in third place in the 2024 International Air Transport Association ranking of the Top 10 Freight Forwarders in the Philippines; and third spot among international airfreight forwarders operating in the Philippines in 2024, based on data from the Civil Aeronautics Board. For the latter, it accounted for 16.003 million kilograms or a 5.03% share of the total airfreight volume.

On top of that, the company breached the 50,000-square meter mark of warehousing footprint.

KWE Philippines said it “has turned in positive performance year in and year out thereby solidifying its clout and standing” despite the continuing volatility in the global market.

KWE Philippines said it continues to push forward with innovation as it “excitedly looks forward to the future of work as it aggressively adopts technological advances and even the ethical use of artificial intelligence.”

Attributing its success to the “top-notch quality of its human resource”, hence the constant investment on its people, KWE Philippines said it continues to advocate policies that make it a safe and welcoming workplace where diversity, equality, innovation and free-thinking are valued and highly encouraged.

The company was established on June 25, 1998. From only 28 employees when it started, KWE Philippines now has more than 400 personnel, with 13 offices and 23 warehouses, and three wholly-owned subsidiaries.

It holds the distinction of being the first freight forwarding company in the Philippines to obtain the TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) and ISO IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) in 2002 and 2004, respectively.

Backed by the support and strength of the KWE global network, KWE Philippines is “continuously inching ever forward to its vision of becoming the first choice of every client, employee and supplier and the standard by which other global cargo management companies are measured.”
