Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) subsidiary QuickSTAT has opened a new pharma and healthcare control tower and conditioning facility in Singapore that includes a controlled-ambient warehouse and in-transit storage for vaccines and other drugs.

The investment is part of the K+N group’s strategy to further expand its pharma and healthcare logistics capabilities and provide seamless end-to-end solutions to pharma and healthcare customers across Asia Pacific, the Swiss-based logistics firm said.

Located at K+N’s Singapore Logistics Hub, the new QuickSTAT facility “caters to a full suite of healthcare logistics services for all stages of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle,” K+N said.

The facility provides management of cell and gene therapies, with specialists to ensure proper handling, packaging and storage of the time- and temperature-sensitive products.

Additionally, it includes a controlled-ambient warehouse and in-transit storage for vaccines, investigational drugs, patient clinical specimens and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Singapore is a strategic location for the ISO-certified and GxP compliant facility due to both its geographical position in the center of Asia and its status as a leading biomedical hub in the continent, K+N said.

QuickSTAT manages global clinical trial logistics for all phases of the product life cycle, from research and drug development through to commercialization. The company specializes in time and temperature shipping of clinical research samples, biologics, investigational drugs, clinical trial supplies and vaccines in order to help bring new drugs and medical protocols to the market safely and quickly.
