Alexandra Lumontad has taken the helm at the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu starting this week, following a turnover ceremony on November 3.

Lumontad is taking over from Felipe Geoffrey De Vera as district collector.

Before the formal handover, Lumontad led her first first flag-raising ceremony at the Port of Cebu and thanked the personnel for their welcome.

“I am humbled to continue the Port’s legacy of excellence and integrity. Together, we will advance modernisation, transparency, and service that every stakeholder and Filipino deserves,” said Lumontad in her address.

De Vera, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Port of Cebu team for their support throughout his tenure, which he said was marked by consistent revenue surpluses, stronger stakeholder engagement, and improved operational efficiency.

“It has been my greatest honor to serve alongside such dedicated and capable individuals. The Port’s success is a testament to everyone’s collective effort and dedication,” De Vera said.

Lumontad was previously the district collector at BOC-Ninoy Aquino International Airport from July 2025, succeeding Yasmin Mapa.

Prior to her posting in Manila, she served as district collector in Cagayan de Oro and Clark, where she led successful operations against smuggled cigarettes, illegal drugs, and other contraband, earning recognition for her enforcement and compliance efforts.

BOC-Cebu, in a statement on its official Facebook page, said that under the leadership of Lumontad and the guidance of Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, they aim to “remain steadfast in delivering efficient service, promoting fair trade and upholding public‐service standards in every operation” as one of the bureau’s top-performing collection districts.
