ID-10047257The Philippine Multimodal Transportation and Logistics Roadmap will be launched on March 8 at the Manila Hotel Rigodon Ballroom.

Spearheaded by the Philippine International Seafreight Forwarders Association and United Portusers Confederation, the roadmap aims to produce a common vision for the Philippine multimodal transportation and logistics industry by mapping the structure of the industry, identifying key concerns, and providing specific goals and time-bound strategies for the sector.

The roadmap was produced with inputs from the main consultant, the Institute for Development and Econometric Analysis, together with various private and public transport and logistics industry stakeholders who attended focus group discussions over a period of more than one year. PortCalls acted as the roadmap secretariat.

Aside from the roadmap, there will be presentations on the country’s economic prospects for 2016 by Socio-Economic Planning Secretary and National Economic and Development Authority director-general Dr Emmanuel Esguerra; and key provisions of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act by Customs Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations Atty Agaton Teodoro Uvero.
