New Cabinet officials and agency heads, including Transport secretary Jaime J. Bautista and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) general manager Christopher Pastrana, took their their oath of office before newly-sworn in President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on June 30.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is scheduled to hold a turnover ceremony on July 1 for Bautista, who will replace Arthur Tugade. Bautista, who was former president and chief operating officer of Philippine Airlines, also recently resigned from his various posts in the private sector.

Pastrana will replace Jay Daniel Santiago. The new PPA chief is chairman of domestic shipping operator Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corp. and founder of CAPP Group of Companies. He was also president of Philippine Inter-island Shipping Association, the umbrella organization of various shipping associations, and president of the Philippine RoRo Operators Association.

Other new members of the Cabinet and appointed officials are:

  • Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno
  • Socioeconomic Planning secretary Arsenio Balisacan
  • Budget and Management secretary Amenah Pangandaman
  • Internal Revenue commissioner Lilia Guillermo
  • Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor Felipe Medalla
  • Public Works and Highways secretary Manuel Bonoan
  • Interior and Local Government secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr.
  • Information and Communications Technology secretary Ivan John Uy
  • Justice secretary Crispin Remulla
  • Labor and Employment secretary Bienvendo Laguesma
  • Agrarian Reform secretary Conrado Estrella III
  • Migrant Workers secretary Susan Ople
  • Defense senior undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr., who will be acting department head
  • Tourism secretary Maria Esperanza Christina Frasco
  • Social Welfare and Development secretary Erwin Tulfo
  • Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra
  • Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board chair Cheloy Garafil
  • DOTr undersecretary for rails Cesar Chavez

Marcos will head the Department of Agriculture and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio the Department of Eduction.

Officials for other posts, including the Bureau of Customs, have yet to be named.
