Metro Manila under shorter curfew hours from May 1
  • Starting May 1, the unified curfew hours in Metro Manila will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • All local chief executives will issue their respective executive orders and/or adopt their respective ordinances to implement the unified curfew hours

Starting May 1, the unified curfew hours in Metro Manila will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Benhur Abalos announced.

Abalos said Metro Manila mayors unanimously agreed to adjust the unified curfew hours through Metro Manila Council (MMC) Resolution 21-09 signed on April 17.

Under the resolution, all local chief executives will issue their respective executive orders or adopt their respective ordinances “for the proper implementation of the standardized and unified curfew hours.”

To recall, the MMC decided to implement unified curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting April 12 until the end of the modified enhanced community quarantine on April 30.

The MMC, comprised of the 17 local government units of Metro Manila, is the governing and policymaking body of the MMDA.
