Philippine company Mober has been recognized in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch List of 2024 for its significant impact in the green logistics services industry as well as consistent financial growth in the Asia Pacific region.
In a statement, Mober said it is one of three Philippine companies to make it to the list, and one of five listed companies from the construction and logistics industry.
This year, the business publication’s 100 to Watch List focuses on companies and startups which achieved steady growth. This, as venture capital funding hit a seven-year low in 2023.
In 2024, Mober secured $6 million in additional funding from South East Asia Clean Energy Facility ll managed by Clime Capital. The additional sum builds on the $2-million investment received from RT Heptagon Holdings last year.
The fresh funding advances Mober’s mission of providing green logistics solutions in the Philippines.
Dennis Ng, Mober CEO, said: “This recognition underscores the global importance of our mission in sustainable logistics. At Mober, we remain steadfast in our commitment to helping businesses achieve net-zero carbon emissions with zero capital expenditures, paving the way for a greener future.”
To qualify for the list, companies must be privately-owned and for-profit, based in Asia Pacific, with annual revenues not exceeding $50 million, receiving a maximum of $100 million in total funding as of August 7, this year.
Mober began operations in 2015, initially to help small and medium-sized enterprises solve their on-demand logistical needs. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in October, 2021, the company took a leap of faith by joining the green movement. That year, Mober invested in its first electric vehicle fleet.
The company has since grown to become a business-to-business platform with a sustainable delivery model that has seen it handle deliveries for some of the country’s biggest retailers such as IKEA Phils., SM Appliance Center, Nestle Phils., Nespresso, and even global logistics companies like Maersk and Kuehne+Nagel.
Mober now has a fleet of more than 60 EVs, including e-vans and e-trucks, with plans to expand to 238 electric trucks by end-2024.
The company further plans to set up a network of charging stations from Pasay City to Tacloban, strategically positioned every 150 to 200 kilometers.
Besides its environmental initiatives, the company commits itself to inclusivity by training female drivers and assemblers.
Mober has likewise invested in its proprietary Battery Management System software to enhance performance and efficiency of its EV fleet.
Earlier this year, the company announced the development of its advanced Transport Management System to optimize fleet route planning and delivery schedules, thereby reducing energy consumption and carbon output.
