Mober recently won two awards for helping transform the green logistics industry through its use of electric vehicles (EVs).
The Filipino company bagged the Gold for Sustainability Award and Bronze for Growth Champion at the 2nd KMC Startup Awards gala night held on November 15, 2024.
Only in its second year, the KMC Startup Awards has become one of the most prestigious platforms for recognizing the most forward-thinking and innovative startups in the country.
As transportation emissions in the country are seen to quadruple by 2050, Mober has taken huge strides in promoting sustainability via its innovative commercial EV logistics solutions. The company operates an all-EV fleet, thereby eliminating tailpipe emissions, while also improving air quality and promoting the shift towards a more sustainable transport ecosystem.
Mober has also committed itself to inclusivity by training female drivers – known as Green Delivery Specialists – and assemblers, proving its dedication to workforce diversity.
Besides the Gold Sustainability Award, Mober also took home the bronze for Growth Champion Award in recognition of its rapid expansion in scaling green logistics in the Philippines.
Said Mober founder and CEO Dennis Ng: “These recognitions are a testament to our relentless drive to innovate and lead the logistics industry toward a sustainable future.”
Ng added that Mober believes that growth and sustainability go hand in hand, serving as an inspiration to work harder toward a greener Philippines and beyond.
Mober began in 2015 and now helps small and medium enterprises adopt sustainable practices by offering EV rentals for their logistical needs.
The pandemic did not prevent the company from transitioning its fleet to EVs in October 2021. It has since become a business-to-business platform to facilitate sustainable delivery for some of the country’s top retail giants like SM Appliance Center, IKEA Philippines, Nestle Philippines, and Nespresso, alongside such global logistics firms like Maersk and Kuehne+Nagel.
Mober recently attracted new investments to fund its expansion, including $2 million in seed funding led by RT Heptagon Holdings, and $6 million from Clime Capital under the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility. These bolstered its plan to expand its EV fleet to 238 units and helped to set up a new 3,000 square meter charging facility by early next year.
Mober has extended its operations outside Metro Manila by establishing footholds in such places as Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Legazpi.
Mober’s KMC Startup Awards were won over more than 300 entries from such industries as fintech, agritech, logistics, healthcare, and construction.
The event was organized by KMC Solutions in partnership with Philippine Startup Week, Ideaspace I QBO, Kaya Founders, Web3PH, and Uniquecorn Strategies.
Previously, Mober was included in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch list, which recognizes startups and companies across the Asia-Pacific region which have attained steady growth.
