The automated passenger processing systems at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals are expanding access as more airlines complete integration, airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced.
Self check-in kiosks, automated pre-security screening gates, and self-boarding gates are now accessible to a wider group of passengers at Terminals 1, 2, and 3, with additional carriers coming online.
The platform enables eligible passengers to check in, print boarding passes, tag baggage, clear initial security screening, and board their flights through automated lanes.
NNIC said the system is designed to reduce queuing and ease congestion at conventional counters. A phased activation of automated bag drop facilities is also underway.
At Terminal 1, the automated services are available for the following:
- Philippine Airlines international flights, excluding Middle East and Japan routes
- Asiana Airlines passengers who are Korean nationals or foreign travelers without visa requirements
Terminal 2 covers all domestic destinations of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia.
At Terminal 3:
- Cebu Pacific passengers on both domestic and international routes
- AirAsia international passengers
- United Airlines passengers without visa requirements
- Qatar Airways passengers
- Air Canada passengers
“These systems are already operational, and we are seeing more airlines come on board as integration is completed,” NNIC said. “As participation expands, more passengers will be able to move through check-in, security, and boarding more efficiently.”
The automation initiative forms part of NAIA’s broader modernization program aimed at improving passenger flow and aligning airport processes with biometric-enabled standards adopted by major international hubs.
Passengers on eligible flights are advised to use self check-in kiosks located near terminal check-in areas before proceeding to bag drop counters or automated lanes for security and boarding.
