Ninoy Aquino International Airport runways are now open after being closed for six hours due to severe typhoon #Paeng, according to the Manila International Airport Authority.

The reopening was met by heavy rains posing a challenge to flight landing and take off.

The first aircraft to land was Oman Air flight WY843 at 11.20pm.

MIAA said it expects to normalize flight operations as Paeng continues to move away from Metro Manila.   

Passengers are advised to coordinate with airlines for updates.
