NCR Plus (Metro Manila, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal) have been placed under the less strict enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from April 12 to 30.

NCR Plus was under the strictest quarantine mode, ECQ, in the previous 2 weeks.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the announcement on April 11. Earlier Roque ruled out an extension of ECQ, citing lack of government funds to aid those affected by movement restrictions.

Santiago City in Quirino province, and Abra are also under MECQ.

Metro Manila mayors have approved a new unified curfew of 8pm to 5am under MECQ. This is a departure from the ECQ curfew of from 6pm to 5am.
