New CEOs of DHL companies have been named recently.

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post AG appointed Hendrik Venter as chief executive officer of DHL Supply Chain, replacing Oscar de Bok who will be CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.

De Bok, a member of the management board since 2019, will succeed Tim Scharwath, who will  retire, DHL said in a statement.

Venter, currently responsible for Supply Chain Mainland Europe, Middle East, and Africa, will replace De Bok as DHL Supply Chain CEO and member of the management board of DHL Group.

The changes take effect on August 16, 2025.

“On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Tim Scharwath for his service to the company and for his successful work in effectively leading and further developing DHL Global Forwarding, Freight,” DHL Group Supervisory Board chair Katrin Suder said.

During Scharwath’s tenure, the division modernized its IT infrastructure, accelerated digitalization, and continuously improved its services and solutions for customers.

On De Bok, Suder said his “outstanding track record as CEO of our DHL Supply Chain division, combined with his deep understanding of our business, makes him an ideal candidate to accelerate sustainable growth in our forwarding and freight business.”

“We are pleased to have found a first-class successor for Oscar de Bok in Hendrik Venter, who has successfully led DHL Supply Chain businesses across different markets and regions. We wish them both the best of success,” she added.

DHL Group CEO Tobias Meyer, for his part, said he is looking to continuing to work with de Bok in his new role and welcoming Venter to the management board, noting both colleagues “have exceptional expertise, experience, and leadership skills, which will benefit our customers, our company, and our shareholders.”

De Bok joined the DHL Group in 1999 and was managing director of DHL Supply Chain for several countries and regions, including Italy, the Nordics, and Asia. In October 2019, he was named CEO of DHL Supply Chain. De Bok will hold his appointment as CEO of Global Forwarding, Freight until August 2030.

Venter, meanwhile, has more than 15 years of experience in management positions at DHL Supply Chain.

In October 2019, he took on the role of CEO of DHL Supply Chain Mainland Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In this position, he was responsible for the DHL Supply Chain business in 25 different markets, focusing on strengthening and expanding the region’s growth, as well as driving standardization.
