OTS inspects aircraft operators at Mactan-Cebu airport

National Aviation Security Auditors from the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) conducted a scheduled onsite security inspection at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport from June 28 to July 1, 2022 to verify implementation of security measures by aircraft operators against their respective OTS-approved Aircraft Operator Security Program.

OTS inspected aircraft operators PAL Express, Cebu Pacific Air, Cebgo, and AirSWIFT.

The OTS regularly conducts aircraft security inspections to identify deficiencies and come up with recommendations to assist its stakeholders in correcting the deficiencies based on the standards set forth in the National Civil Aviation Security Program.

The security inspection is particularly focused on areas involving protection of aircraft, hold baggage security, and air cargo and mail security, OTS said.

The inspection team was led by Officer-in-Charge for Transport Security Oversight and Compliance Service Alessandra Johanna Arenas, together with Anallie Cruzada, Head of the Aircraft Section; Allan Blanco, Aircraft Operator Security Program Assessment Unit Head; Kalayaan Tuyogon, Aircraft Security Inspection Unit Head; and other OTS Aviation Security Auditors.

The activity was supported by the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation, and Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Group and PNP EOD & K9 Group.
