Improvement of the access road leading to Maribojoc Port, the port being eyed as a major gateway into Bohol, is nearly 45% done, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The P11.9-million road development project, which involves widening the road to 37 meters across with four lanes of concrete pavement, is already 44.6% complete.

“Since Maribojoc Port is being eyed to become a major port, the improved road will facilitate better access to spur economic activities in the coastal town,” said Bohol 1st district engineer Francis Antonio L. Flores.

Civil works on the project began in November 2019, and targeted completion is by the second quarter of this year.

Maribojoc Port itself was rehabilitated in 2018 after it was damaged by an earthquake in 2013.
