Philippine Airlines (PAL) is bringing back its Manila-Riyadh route on April 10, 2026, ending a suspension triggered by escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Passengers should expect a longer journey as the flag carrier adopts a modified flight path for safety reasons, the flag-carrier said in an advisory

Rather than flying its usual direct route, PAL will make a technical stop in Bangkok for refueling before continuing to the Saudi capital.

The carrier clarified that the layover is operational in nature: passengers will not be required to disembark and will remain on board throughout the refueling process.

The airline did not specify how much additional travel time the Bangkok stopover would add, nor did it identify which flights would be affected beyond characterizing them as “select” Manila-Riyadh services.

PAL said it is continuing to monitor conditions in the region and will “restore normal routing” and full capacity once the situation allows.

Affected passengers will be notified of further changes as they develop.

At the same time, passengers are advised to confirm their bookings before proceeding to the airport.
