Philippine Airlines unveiled its newest aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000, on Jan 17, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. leading the ceremonies.

The unveiling coincided with the airline’s 85th anniversary.

PAL is the first to operate the aircraft in Southeast Asia. It will be deployed on transpacific routes.

The acquisition of the Airbus A350-1000 brings PAL’s total fleet to 82 aircraft.

The A350-1000 sets new standards in sustainable aviation. It delivers significant fuel efficiency gains, with a reduction of up to 25% in fuel consumption compared to earlier aircraft models. Additionally, the aircraft is certified to operate on sustainable aviation fuel, further boosting its eco-friendly credentials.

The aircraft features a three-class cabin layout that accommodates up to 382 passengers. The cabin includes 42 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 316 in Economy.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 turbofan engines, each capable of delivering up to 97,000 pounds of thrust, the A350-1000 boasts enhanced efficiency and reliability.
