The Philippine Coast Guard is deploying ships to areas affected by typhoon Odette.

The BRP Sindangan is arriving in Siargao Island this afternoon (Dec 19) and will transport residents and tourists wishing to go to Surigao city.

A similar mission will be deployed to Dinagat Island.

The BRP Gabriela Silang is set to leave Port Area, Manila at 12pm today (Dec 29) for Surigao del Norte.

The BRP Tubbataha and BRP Malabrigo will also be deployed to transport relief goods.

In addition, the PCG is mcoordinating with shipping lines for the deployment of passenger vessels.
