Arrey Perez, president of Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), has resigned effective end of September.

Perez confirmed his resignation to a Pampanga media outlet. He did not provide a reason although the media outlet claimed Perez will join the private sector.

There are reports Perez will move to the MVP Group, which owns Metro Pacific Tollway Corp. MPTC operates North Luzon Expressway, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway, Cavite-Laguna Expressway, Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway and the NLEx Connector Road (NLEx Connector).

No replacement has been announced.

Perez was instrumental in advancing key projects for Clark’s 1,600-hectare aviation complex, notably the Clark National Food Hub and Clark Aviation Capital development project, the latter launched only on September 23.

Clark Aviation Capital covers some 2,367 hectares of government-owned land and will serve as a global center for aviation, logistics, commerce, and sustainable urban development. It will also be developed to attract local and foreign investments.

“The capital will transform the erstwhile idle lands to a global hub for innovation, investment and infrastructure to boost airport operations, generate new revenue streams, and promote economic and food security,” Perez said in a statement.

Since September last year, CIAC has been actively promoting its seven flagship projects, with the Clark National Food Hub leading the initiative. The project recently secured approval from the House Committee on Trade and Industry.
