The Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. is set to hold its national election on March 14.
The election, to be held in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Batangas, Northern Mindanao, and Subic, will choose the 15 members of the chamber’s Board of Trustees. The winning candidates will then, among themselves, elect the new set of officers for this year.
PCCBI members who have filed their Certificate of Good Standing until March 7 are eligible to vote on March 14.
There are 36 candidates that include a mix of current and former officers/trustees of PCCBI, as well new candidates. There are two groups vying for seats in the Board—Team Aduana and Team Norbi—as well as six independent candidates.
Independent candidates include Anthony Cristobal, Armando Chan, Dennis Calica, Lani Benitez-Gallino, Samuel Perez, and Rodrigo Villanueva, Jr.
Members of Team Norbi are Atty. Norberto Castillo, Wilfredo Caingcoy, Adones Carmona, Atty. Julius S. Basas, Junaid B. Colangcag, Reffy Gorre, Victor Magcasi, Silverio Montalbo, Atty. Ferdinand Nague, Dexter Pedreza, Jerry Reyes, Ma. Theresa Santos, Jimmy Sena, Jill Tolentino, and Michael Valdez.
Members of Team Aduana are Suharno Basir, Kirk Buduan, Atty. Alex Calderon, Dennis Del Pilar, Jovet King Dimaculangan, Ritchie Espiritu, Joeven Gilbuena, Leonardo Luarca, Helen Grace Mendoza-Balite, Angelica Paclipan, Raniel Orocay, Felix Pica, Zyrel Selerio, Merlyn Venci, and Charlestone Villena.
CCBI is the accredited integrated professional organization of customs brokers in the country with chapters in Bataan, Batangas, Bicol, Bohol, CARAGA, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Northern Luzon, Northern Mindanao, Southwestern Mindanao, Subic-Clark, Western Visayas-Iloilo, and its first international chapter in Singapore. Formerly named Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc., the organization officially changed its name last year.
