Cargo planeCargo volume handled by domestic airfreight forwarders in the Philippines rose 13.37% to 56.223 million kilograms in 2013 from 49.594 million kg in 2012, data from the Civil Aeronautics Board showed.

Direct shipments, which contributed 50.7% of the total, increased 66.7% to 28.503 million kg from 17.099 million kg in 2012.

Consolidations dropped 16.72% to 27.044 million kg from 32.47 million kg while breakbulking shot up 2,497.27% to 675,862.6 kg from 26,022 kg in 2012.

CAB’s top 30 list of domestic airfreight forwarders for 2013 showed a major overhaul in rankings with LBC Express Inc. keeping its top position and Non-Pareil International Inc. remaining at No. 20. The rest either moved up or down the ladder.

LBC Express dominated the industry with a market share of 23.38% or 13.145 million kg of air cargo handled but this was markedly lower than its 41.82% market share in 2012.

Transglobal Consolidators Inc. kicked out AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. from the No.2 rank with a 13.59% share or 7.643 million kg. Transglobal climbed from the 15th spot in 2012.

AP Cargo, in third spot, held 13.59% of the market or 7.420 million kg of the total volume.

Airfreight 2100, Inc. slipped one spot to fourth with 7.9% or 4.441 million kg while Kim Gold Cargo Logistics Corp. shot up from 12th to fifth with 5.34% or 3.002 million kg.

Also accelerating from 18th to sixth was 2Go Express Inc. with a 4.38% share or 2.464 million kg while JRS Business Corp. fell one spot to seventh with a 3.10% market share or 1.742 million kg.

Surging seven spots was Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Service Corp. with a market share of 2.99% or 1.684 million kg while Wide Wide World Express Inc. slipped five ranks to ninth place with a market share of 2.6% or 1.46 million kg. Also falling five places to 10th was Ximex Delivery Express with 2.54% or 1.431 million kg.

Ranking from 11th to 20th place were AAI Worldwide Logistics (formerly Airlift Asia, Inc) (2.53%); Libcap Super Express Corp. (2.29%); Explorer Freight Corp. (1.87%); Highlight Express Philippines, Inc. (1.57%); Vintel Logistics, Inc. (1.36%); Fastcargo Logistics Corp. (1.35%); Airspeed International Corp. (1.19%); Argo International Forwarders, Inc. (1.17%); American Freight Forwarders, Inc. (1.14%); and Non-Pareil International, Inc. (1.03%)

Rounding off the top 30 list are ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc. (0.97%); Pambato Cargo Forwarders (0.78%); Germalin Enterprises, Inc. (0.66%); TNT Express Deliveries Phils. Inc. (0.64%); Iris Logistics, Inc. (0.42%); CBL Courier Express International (0.41%); GRM International Inc. (0.26%); Front Cargo Forwarders (0.20%); Redgold Forwarders Inc.
