Philippine domestic freight forwarders handled 62.761 million kilograms of cargo in 2024, 10.3% higher than the 56.914 million kg recorded in 2023, the second consecutive year of increase, according to data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).
Direct shipments accounted for 52% of the total volume or 32.763 million kg, 5.4% up from 31.082 million kg in 2023.
Consolidations represented 47.75% or 29.97 million kg, a 17.1% growth from 25.594 million kg in 2023.
Breakbulking, on the other hand, declined 88% to 27,996.67 kg from 237,655.80 kg in 2023.
More domestic airfreight forwarders submitted their reports in 2024 (95.56%) than in 2023 (86.01%).
For the third consecutive year, AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. led CAB’s list of top 30 domestic airfreight forwarders with 20.801 million kg or a 33.14% share of the 2024 total.
LBC Express, Inc. also retained its position at second place, posting 6.985 million kg or a share of 11.13%.
2GO Express, Inc. improved one rank to third place with 4.107 million kg or 6.54% while PH Global Jet Express jumped nine places to fourth with 3.575 million kg or a share of 5.7%.
JRS Business Corp. dropped two ranks to fifth handling 4.71% or 2.956 million kg while Lite Xpress Int’l., Inc. also slipped one place to sixth with 3.99% or 2.504 million kg.
Up one rank to seventh place was ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc. with 2.362 million or 3.76% share, dislodging Four Aces Resources Corp., which ranked at eight place with 1.689 million kg or a share of 2.69%.
Wide Wide World Express Corp. climbed two ranks to ninth with 1.478 million or 2.36% while Nonpareil International Freight & Cargo Services, Inc. declined one place to 10 th with 1.457 million kg or 2.32% of the total.
From 11th to 20th places were:
