INTERNATIONAL airfreight shipments in the Philippines reached 139.362 million kilograms (kg) in the first half of the year, an increase of 2.13% from last year’s 136.452 million kg, data from the Civil Aeronautics Board showed.

Of the total volume, consolidations accounted for 44.9% or 62.536 million kg, breakbulking 37.3% (52.01 million kg), and direct shipments 17.8% (24.816 million kg).

Nippon Express Philippines Inc. continued to dominate the market with 27.325 million kg or a 19.61% share of the total throughput. The latest figure was a touch higher than the 27.322 million kg for the same period last year, but 0.1% lower than its market share then.

Trans-Global Consolidators Inc., which was in ninth spot last year, dislodged DHL Global Forwarding (Philippines) Inc. from second place with 8.787 million kg or a 6.31% share.

DHL Global came in third, handling 8.295 million kg or 5.95% of the total.

Maintaining its fourth rank was Yusen Logistics Philippines Inc. with 7.941 million kg or 5.70%, followed by Airfreight 2100 Inc., which climbed seven spots with 7.520 million kg of cargoes or a 5.40% share.

Leaping eight spots was Panalpina World Transport (Phils.) Inc., which handled 5.387 million kg or 3.87% of the total volume, while Kuehne + Nagel Inc. grabbed the seventh spot with 5.338 million kg or 3.83%.

Kintetsu World Express Philippines Inc. fell from third to eighth with 5.143 million kg or a market share of 3.69%.

Expeditors Philippines Inc. ranked ninth with 3.236 million kg or 2.32%, followed by UPS Delbros Transport Inc., which carried 3.044 million kg or 2.18% of the total.

Back on the list taking 11th spot was DHL Worldwide Express (Phils) Inc., which carried 2.961 million kg or 2.12%, while Schenker Philippines Inc. was close behind with 2.94 million kg or 2.11%.

On 13th place was Agility International Logistics with 2.68 million kg or 1.92%, followed by AAI Worldwide Logistics Inc. (formerly Airlift Asia Inc.) with 2.41 million kg or 1.73%.

Also climbing eight spots was CEVA Logistics Philippines Inc., which rose to 15th with 1.955 million kg or 1.40% of the total volume.

Completing the list were Hankyu International Transport Philippines (1.38% market share), Airspeed International Corp. (1.37%), Sky Freight Forwarders Inc. (1.25%), NNR Global Logistics (Phils) Inc. (1.15%), newly approved TL Forwarding Service (Philippines) Inc. (1.13%), U Freight Philippines Inc., (1.06%), Royal Cargo Combined Logistics (1.03%), World Alliance Freight (1.03%), UPS SCS (Philippines) Inc. (0.97%), Kornet Express Inc. (0.78%), Nissin Transport Philippines Inc. (0.68%), Logwin Air+Ocean Philippines Inc. (0.65%), Kerry ATS Logistics Inc. (0.60%), Donreal Forwarders Corp. (0.53%), and DSV Air & Sea Inc. (0.53%).
