International air freight forwarders operating in the Philippines saw volume of air cargo handled grow 25.06% to 304.975 million kilograms in 2013 from 243.853 million kg in 2012.

According to data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), consolidations, which made up 45.12% of the total, improved 29.22% to 137.607 million kg in 2012 from 106.493 million in the same period in 2012.

Accounting for 37.99% of the total was breakbulking, which rose 19.98% to 115.850 million kg from 96.562 million kg while direct shipments increased 26.27% to 51.517 million kg from 40.798 million kg.

Nippon Express Philippines, Inc. once again topped CAB’s list of international airfreight forwarders, contributing 17.72% of the total market share with 54.028 million kg of cargoes carried.

Improving significantly was Airfreight 2100, Inc., which climbed 11 places to second spot with 7.49% or 22.843 million kg.

DHL Global Forwarding (Philippines) Inc. fell to third place with 6.23% or 18.990 million kg.

Trans-global Consolidators, Inc. and Yusen Logistics Phils. Inc. exchanged places with the former now in fourth with 6.22% or 18.981 million kg and the latter in fifth with 5.37% or 16.391 million kg.

Kuehne+Nagel Inc. jumped one place to sixth spot with 4.68% or 14.278 million kg while Kintetsu World Express Phil., Inc. fell from third to seventh place with 3.95% or 12.053 million kg.

Down one place was Panalpina World Transport (Phils.), Inc., accounting for 3.64% of the market, while Schenker Philippines, Inc. was up two places to ninth with 3.23% or 9.841 million kg.

Remaining in 10th place was UPS-Delbros Transport, Inc. with 2.16% market share or 6.585 million kg.

Airfreight forwarders ranked 11th to 20th places were Expeditors Philippines, Inc. (2.01% market share); DHL Express (Phils.) Corp. (1.99%); AAI Worldwide Logistics (1.52%); CEVA Logistics Phils. (1.45%); U-Freight Philippines, Inc. (1.29%); Hankyu Hanshin Express Phils. Inc. (1.25%); Royal Cargo Combined Logistics (1.24%); World Alliance Freight, Inc. (1.21%); Airspeed Int’l Corp. (1.16%); and UPS-SCS (Phils), Inc. (1.09%).

Rounding off the top 30 are Sky Freight Forwarders, Inc. (1.07%); Kornel Express, Inc. (1.05%); NNR Global Logistics (Phils.), Inc.(1.04%); Agility Int’l. Logistics, Inc. (1.02%); Makatiexpress Cargo, Inc. (0.97%); TL Forwarding Service (Phils), Inc. (0.91%); Logwin Air+Ocean Phils. Inc. (0.66%); Kerry ATS Logistics, Inc. (0.50); Expertrans Philippines, Inc.
