The EIMS automates the generation of essential reports, including property accountability
The Coast Guard Logistics Systems Command (CGLSC) recently launched its Electronic Inventory Management System (EIMS).
The system provides a robust database ensuring accurate accounting, continuous monitoring, and streamlined tracking of all property, plant and equipment (PPE) assets from procurement to disposal.
“This will address various challenges that we have been encountering in the management of our PPE. Additionally, this is really relevant, since we recently completed a one-time cleansing of our PPE balances with the help of all PCG units, districts, stations and even sub-stations,” said Noroden Mira-ato, the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) Commission on Audit team leader.
The EIMS automates generation of essential reports, including property accountability reports, simplifying the transfer of accountability. The advancements promise improvements in the operational efficiency and accuracy of the PCG’s inventory management processes.
The launch was led by CGLSC Commander, Commodore Marco Antino Gines PCG, which showcased EIMS’s capabilities, demonstrating how it revolutionizes PPE management.
During the event, the Coast Guard Superior Achievement Medal and Ribbon were also awarded to PCG personnel for their contributions to the creation and development of the EIMS.
“In these kinds of activities, you can always rely on the Commission on Audit as your enabling partner,” said Mira-ato, who delivered a lecture during the launch.
The participants received detailed guidance on the One-Time Cleansing Initiative, focused on derecognizing non-existing or missing PPE. The initiative aims to further enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing PCG resources.
The activity was concluded by Commodore Prudencio Patricio Jr PCG, who expressed his gratitude to the men and women of the CGLSC.
