The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has temporarily stopped accepting all international mail bound to 35 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America following airspace disruptions in key Middle East transit hubs.

The directive covers all classes of mail, including letters, parcels, and Express Mail Service (EMS) shipments, PHLPost said in a press release.

The suspension was implemented as a precautionary measure after regional airspace closures in the Gulf states, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, following recent military hostility escalations in the Middle East.

According to the postal agency, the closures have disrupted primary air transport routes used by PHLPost and its airline and international postal partners, affecting the movement of outbound mail from the Philippines.

“The Philippine Postal Corporation assures the public that it continues to prioritize the security of customers’ mail while implementing necessary measures to prevent significant service delays at this point in time,” the agency said.

PHLPost said it is closely coordinating with international postal administrations and customs authorities to ensure the safe handling and movement of mail items while working toward the gradual restoration and full resumption of services until further notice.
