The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is offering affordable logistics services focused on last-mile deliveries.

Last year, PHLPost expanded its fleet to 18 six-wheeler trucks and four ten-wheeler vehicles in a bid to strengthen its position in the logistics market, especially in last-mile parcel delivery services amid rising e-commerce demand, the agency said in a statement.

“The newly acquired postal vehicles will beef up the e-commerce and logistics delivery business of the postal service. With these brand new trucks, there is a bigger chance and opportunity for PHLPost to enter the e-commerce and logistics market this year”, said Postmaster General Luis Carlos.

The new vehicles, in addition to the existing mail vans, will allow PHLPost to improve the delivery service and ensure seamless handling and delivery of goods it provides to customers, the agency said.

Additionally, Carlos emphasized the significance of various PHLPost projects that help strengthen the country’s logistics services. These include the “Postal Trinity” program, which includes the establishment of Barangay Postal Stations nationwide to enhance last-mile delivery and reach remote areas of the country; the implementation of a new seven-digit ZIP Code system (from the old four-digit) to standardize addressing; and the rollout of the “Kartero App” for real-time tracking and modernized mail operations.
