The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is standardizing the way it computes port tariffs and fees adjustments by rounding down figures to the nearest peso.

According to Administrative Order (AO) No. 006-2025, the revision is intended to “enhance the procedural consistency, minimize rounding-related discrepancies, and reflect an equitable regulatory approach that balances the operational viability of service providers with the affordability considerations of port users.”

The new policy, which took effect when published on August 8, was approved by the PPA Board in its resolution dated July 14, 2025 and applies to all port tariffs and related fees under the regulatory jurisdiction of PPA.

The new methodology will be applied uniformly across all future adjustments, regardless of the type of tariff or nature of adjustment.

All PPA port management offices and responsibility centers in its head office are directed to ensure the proper application and implementation of AO 006-2025.
