Wallem Philippines Shipping, Inc.’s Arnel San Diego will be heading the Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA) in 2017, replacing Cosco Shipping Lines (Philippines), Inc.’s Virgilio Angeles, who is retiring from the shipping industry.

Inter-Asia Marine Transport, Inc.’s Walter Coronel was elected vice president for internal while Mizzen Shipping Enterprises, Inc.’s Leo Philip Buñag is vice president for external.

Blue Sea Shipping Logistics, Inc.’s Jesus Verocel is the new secretary, and Ben Line Agencies Philippines, Inc.’s Alfred Hernandez, the treasurer.

Elected directors for the incoming year are Frederico Acosta (Safe Seas Shipping Agency), Romelos Carmelotes (COSCO), German Bonifacio, Jr. (I.Prudential Shipping Agency Services), Noah Ampil (K Line [Philippines], Inc.), Virginia Madlang-Awa (Doña Virginia Maritima Corporation), Joselito Ilagan (TMS Ship Agencies, Inc.), Ernan De Leon (Global Maritime Logistics Support, Inc.), Rogelio Salonga (RCS Shipping Agencies, Inc.), Ruben Santos (Petro-Bulk Maritime Services, Inc.), and Raoul Viray (Twinseas Maritime Services, Inc.).

The new set of officers and directors was inducted on December 8 by the Department of Transportation’s Assistant Secretary for Maritime Fernando Juan Perez.

PSAA, which has represented the industry for 42 years, comprises 42 ship agents from foreign shipping lines and foreign trampers that operate in Philippine ports.
