President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed retired Army major general Jesus Manangquil, Jr. as administrator and chief executive officer of the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PIA).

Manangquil, who replaces Jose Gabriel La Viña who resigned last November, will serve for a term of three years, PIA said in a statement.

Manangquil was first appointed to PIA in 2020 as a member of its Board of Directors.

Manangquil has 33 years of military experience gained through progressive assignments to different areas across the Philippines with extensive training on strategic leadership and management as applied in national defense and security.

State-owned PIA manages the 3,000-hectare PHIVIDEC industrial estate, considered one of the biggest special economic zones in the country.
