Royal Cargo recently inaugurated its newest facility that aims to provide a pharma-grade storage facility for COVID-19 and other types of vaccines.

The US$1-million vaccine depot is located at the Royal Cargo headquarters in Parañaque City and is near Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for easier transport of vaccines, Royal Cargo said in a statement.

The vaccine depot has storage rooms holding different temperature ranges from +2°C to +8°C and +15°C to +25°C. Royal Cargo also owns ultra-low temperature freezers that can accommodate vaccines with -20°C and -50°C to -80°C temperature requirements.

The vaccine depot can store all types of Emergency Use Authorization-approved COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines.

Security features are also available, including a 200% power contingency, 24/7 security and CCTV systems, and a temperature-monitoring and GPS-tracking system.

Royal Cargo also has a fleet of reefer trucks and dry vans complemented by thermal boxes with temperature-recording devices to deliver vaccines in a safe, secure, and swift matter in any part of the country.

Royal Cargo is one of the logistics service providers tapped for the government’s national vaccination program. The government expects more vaccines to be delivered to the country starting this month, including one million doses of Sinovac on June 6; about 1.3 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine on June 7 plus 900,000 more of the same brand on June 11; and 200,000 doses of Moderna vaccine on June 21.

Aside from warehousing and cold chain services, Royal Cargo provides international and domestic freight forwarding, supply chain/logistics, projects and heavylift, business process outsourcing, customs brokerage, liquid transportation, shipping agencies and trucking services, and logistics solutions for clinical research and development—with owned equipment and facilities.
