Royal Cargo-SCG Logistics form new venture

Royal Cargo Inc. (RCI) and SCG Logistics Management Co. Ltd. have formed a new venture offering end-to-end logistics solutions in the Philippines.

The companies on Feb 7 signed a joint venture agreement creating SCG RCI Logistics Inc. Present during the signing were Nithi Patarachoke, president of Thailand-based conglomerate Siam Cement Group (SCG), the parent of SCG Logistics; Bunn Kasemsup, managing director of SCG Logistics; Michael Kurt Raeuber, chairman and group CEO of RCI; Andrew Kurt Raeuber, president of RCI; and Charvanin Bunditkitsada, CEO of JWD Group.

SCG RCI Logistics will provide services including import and export, customs clearance, domestic delivery, warehouse management, domestic island-to-island delivery, as well as consulting and logistics planning to support businesses seeking to import and export to the Philippines.

RCI said SCG RCI Logistics aims to become a leading 3PL with sales of 154 million baht (about P251 million) by 2027.

SCG Logistics’s Bunn Kasemsup said the partnership with RCI is a significant step in expanding their logistics business in the Philippines.

“The combined footprint of SCG Logistics together with JWD Group and Royal Cargo in Asia is substantial. Once we share the given opportunities among us, including many specialties, such as project handling, cold-chain, DG cargo handling, and shipping line operations, we can aim to be the future leading regional logistics supply chain provider,” Michael Raeuber said.
