International supply chain expert Mark Millar will conduct a seminar on International Best Practices in Outsourcing Logistics Partnerships on January 29, 2013, 1:00-5:00pm, at the Makati Shangri-La (Parañaque Room).

Hong Kong-based Millar will discuss the following topics:

  • Logistics 101 – the enabler of effective supply chain ecosystems – what, why and how
  • Outsourcing – strategic business decision, principles and rationale for decision-making
  • Logistics Providers – explore the different types of services providers and business models, including 3PL, 4PL and LLP, compare and contrast different approaches
  • LSP Evaluation and Selection – process and pitfalls of the RFQ process for selection of Logistics partner – including specific framework for evaluation

The seminar, to be conducted in coordination with PortCalls, will benefit logistics / purchasing / supply chain executives, CEOs and general managers, importers and exporters, manufacturers, third-party service provider, and accounting and trade executives.

Seminar fee is PhP4,500 (net) early bird / pre-registration (until January 15 only) and PhP5,000 (net) for walk-in and onsite registration.

His corporate career includes executive positions at ModusLink, Platinum Logistix, Exel Contract Logistics (now DHL) and UPS Supply Chain Solutions – serving many leading companies in the Consumer Retail and High Tech Electronics sectors.

Millar is a Visiting Lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (FCILT). He achieved an MBA with Distinction from the University of the West of England, is a Graduate of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies.
