BOC-Batangas’ top importers

  • Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Chevron Philippines, and Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. have been recognized by BOC-Port of Batangas as the port’s top importers in the first half of 2022
  • For the same period, Elecita C. Magcasi, Wilfredo V. Valdez, and Kenneth S. Martinez were honored as the top customs brokers

Petroleum companies Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Chevron Philippines and automotive manufacturer Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) have been granted recognition by the Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas as its top importers for the first half of 2022.

BOC-Batangas said in a statement that the three companies as well as three top customs brokers were honored for having contributed significantly to the collection district’s revenue take during the period.

Elecita C. Magcasi, Wilfredo V. Valdez, and Kenneth S. Martinez were also awarded as the port’s top customs brokers for the period.

In a separate statement, TMP said it had remitted a total of P16.46 billion of duties and taxes during the period, making it the second top importer of BOC-Batangas.

TMP imports through Batangas Port automotive products, including various Toyota and Lexus vehicle models, multi-sourced parts for production, and service parts from the Asia Pacific region.

Batangas Port also serves as a major gateway for TMP’s distribution of automotive products to Toyota dealerships in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

With the establishment of the 32-hectare TMP Batangas Vehicle Center (BVC), TMP processes completely built-up units arriving from the nearby Batangas port.

BOC-Batangas also recognized exporters and economic zone locators for their support to the programs and endeavors of the port.

The awards were given during BOC-Batangas’ 65th founding anniversary celebration on August 17.

For January to June 2022, BOC-Batangas collected P92.96 billion, 30.39% higher than its target of P71.29 billion for the period.
