  • The hackathon aims to revolutionize the logistics industry with innovation and efficiency using advanced technology

Softlink Global Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with an engineering college in Maharashtra, India recently launched a logistics “hackathon.” LogiTHON aims to foster innovation in the the logistics sector.

With over 1,500 registrations received, LogiTHON handpicked 57 teams to compete in the final round scheduled for April 19 and 20. Participants addressed critical issues such as developing Intelligent Warehouse Management Systems, optimizing trade routes, and harnessing AI for data conversion and analysis.

In the wake of post-pandemic recovery, the National Skill Development Corporation, a non-profit organization in New Delhi, has identified logistics as a key sector for job creation in India.

With the burgeoning e-commerce sector and India’s manufacturing focus, the demand for skilled logistics professionals has surged.

LogiTHON aims to bridge this gap by engaging engineering students to tackle real-world challenges confronting the industry.

Amit Maheshwari, CEO of Softlink Global, noted LogiTHON’s significance in shaping the future of the logistics landscape, a pivotal sector in both the Indian and global economies. He envisions student-led innovation as the driving force behind a dynamic and technologically advanced logistics ecosystem.

“LogiTHON serves as a catalyst for this transformation, providing a platform for top teams to showcase their solutions and influence the trajectory of the logistics industry,” he said in a statement.

“Beyond the competition, LogiTHON will also foster a culture of innovation among students, empowering them to become pioneers in the logistics sector. By nurturing talent and encouraging entrepreneurship, LogiTHON is set to drive economic growth and dynamism in India and beyond,” Maheshwari concluded.
