The Bureau of Customs (BOC) will accept until today (June 3) hard copies and supporting documents for entries filed online during the period of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), assistant commissioner and spokesperson Atty. Vincent Philip Maronilla said in an online update on June 1.

Customs commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero in an April 17 memorandum ordered a three-day submission period for original copy of supporting documents uploaded in BOC’s Customer Care Portal System (CCPS) upon the lifting or within three days after lifting of the ECQ.

This applies to stakeholders who opted to avail of the online filing of goods declaration with an undertaking to submit the original copy of the supporting documents uploaded in the CCPS upon lifting of the ECQ.

Prior to Maronilla’s announcement and even before the lifting of the MECQ, BOC Manila International Container Port (MICP) started accepting last month the submission of hard copies of documents for entries filed online for the period March 25 to April 21.

To enforce physical distancing and ensure the health and safety of Customs personnel and stakeholders, BOC MICP is accepting hard copies of its attached documentary requirements at drop boxes located at its office building’s main gate.

The hard copies of the goods declaration and the supporting documents must be placed in a long brown envelop, according to Customs Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 08-2020, which provides the guidelines for the implementation of BOC’s Zero-Contact Policy at customs assessment offices.

Under Section 3.1, documents to be filed with BOC should be submitted in hard copy and in electronic portable document format (PDF).
