The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has established its 10th one-stop shop facility for customs services at the Port of San Fernando in La Union.

BOC-San Fernando inaugurated its Customer Care Center (CCC) on September 22. CCC is a one-stop shop providing all types of customs services to port users such as centralized document receiving and releasing, gate pass issuances, filing of goods declaration and other customs services.

“Although our CCC is smaller compared to those found in other major ports, the public is assured that we will provide uniform service to all stakeholders,” BOC-San Fernando district collector Romalino Valdez said in a statement.

The Port of San Fernando handles agricultural importations and other break bulk shipments that support the growth of local industries in North and Central Luzon.

BOC has been actively establishing CCCs to enhance trade facilitation and comply with Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act. The centers are also in compliance with the agency’s zero-contact policy discouraging face-to-face transactions to lessen opportunities for corruption.

Nine more out of the 17 BOC collection districts have already established their own CCCs. These are the Port of Manila, Legazpi, Batangas, Surigao, Subic, Clark, Zamboanga, Davao, and Limay.
