Texas Instruments (TI) received the Billionaires’ Award from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for its $3 billion annual export contributions in 2024, PEZA said in a statement.

PEZA director general Tereso Panga presented the award to TI vice president and country manager Tai-Hsang Chen during a March 24 courtesy visit at PEZA’s head office.

TI has consistently met PEZA’s $2.5 billion annual export threshold, making it an 11-time recipient of the award.

Aside from the Billionaires’ Award, TI has also been inducted into PEZA’s Hall of Fame, earning distinctions for Outstanding Exporter, Outstanding Community Project, and Outstanding Environmental Performance in 1999, 2000, and 2007. These accolades highlight TI’s commitment to “excellence, innovation, global competitiveness, and continuous growth in the Philippines,” according to the agency.

TI also presented Panga and PEZA officials with a 300mm wafer chip award, acknowledging the agency’s ongoing support for locators, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allowed companies like TI to maintain operations and contribute to the country’s economic performance.

Operating in the Philippines since 1979, TI has invested over P67 billion in its Baguio City Export Processing Zone facility and currently employs more than 3,000 Filipinos.

The company remains at the forefront of semiconductor and electronics innovation, with a strong focus on emerging technologies such as edge AI, real-time control, functional safety, industrial communication with new microcontrollers and processors, and programmable logic devices.

The awarding was attended by TI Baguio country manager Parthiben Kumaran, country legal counsel Atty. Deo Cabreros, and country government relations director Ralph Reuben Morales, alongside PEZA deputy director general (DDG) for operations Vivian Santos, DDG for finance and administration Maria Veronica Magsino, and other officials.
