A truck ban will be implemented on January 22 in the municipality of Carmen in Cebu in anticipation of traffic due to the celebration of Sinulog sa Carmen festival.

The ban will be implemented between the boundary of Danao-Carmen and boundary of Carmen-Catmon from 12:01 a.m. of January 22 to 12:01 a.m. of January 23, according to Cebu provincial government Memorandum Order (MO) No. 01-2023.

The ban covers trucks six-wheelers and above, according to the MO dated January 16 and signed by Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

The Philippine National Police is called upon to monitor the strict implementation of the MO.

The Sinulog sa Carmen will be held in the northern town of Carmen on January 22. This is separate from the Sinulog Festival that was held in Cebu City on January 15.

Sinulog Festival or Santo Niño Festival in Cebu is an annual religious and cultural festival held in January.
