Package delivery giant United Parcel Service (UPS) has appointed Michelle Ho as the first female president of its Asia Pacific regional operations based in Singapore.

As regional leader, Ho will lead over 13,000 employees and oversee UPS’s small package business and operations in over 40 countries and territories.

Her vision for the region is to continue building the innovative digital experience powered by a global smart logistics network to support UPS customers’ cross-border connectivity needs, the company said.

Ho has nearly 30 years of UPS experience under her belt. Since joining the company in 1993 as a finance and accounting collection supervisor in Singapore, she has served in multiple leadership roles in Asia.

In her previous appointment as president of UPS China, she led the implementation of strategic service and network enhancements across cities, and drove digital transformation efforts in the country even amid a pandemic.

Ho also served as president of the South Asia district of UPS Asia Pacific, driving strategic growth for express operations across Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Ho, a Singaporean, was one of UPS’s first senior female leaders as vice president of finance in Asia Pacific in 2010, the company said.

She is a chartered accountant of Singapore and holds a master degree in applied finance from Macquarie University, Australia. She is also an alumna of the National University of Singapore and graduated with an accounting degree.
