UPS has launched next-day delivery services between Asia and Australia, reducing transit times for shipments in the Asia Pacific region.

The next-day delivery option comes after a new flight was launched connecting UPS’ intra-Asia hub in Shenzhen (China) to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (Australia). The move enables faster movement of goods and is seen to benefit both importers and exporters, the company said.

Shipments from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Hong Kong can now reach Australia by the next business day.

Australian customers can also avail of expedited deliveries across the Asia Pacific region and even to Europe, as early as the next business day.

Delivery timeline details are as follows:

  • From Asia to Australia: improved delivery times apply to shipments picked up from Wednesday to Friday, starting April 3, 2024. All states except Western Australia are covered.
  • From Australia to Asia Pacific and Europe: next business day delivery is available for shipments picked up on Fridays, starting April 5, 2024. Again, all states except Western Australia are included.

Wilfredo Ramos, president of UPS Asia Pacific, emphasized the significance of this development. “(Most) of Australia’s top trading partners are in Asia Pacific, so we’re delighted to be able to offer our customers faster delivery times across the region.”

He added that faster delivery times empower businesses to stay competitive and grab growth opportunities.
