Vice Admiral Eduardo Fabricante has been appointed officer-in-charge of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) effective February 11.

He takes over from Admiral Leopoldo Laroya who retired on February 10. Laroya was appointed 28th commandant of PCG in September 2021.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1989, Fabricante served as the deputy commandant for operations of PCG prior to being appointed OIC.

He was one of five senior flag rank officers of PCG recommended to Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, who in turn recommended to President Rodrigo Duterte the appointment of the 29th PCG Commandant
