Vietjet now flies direct between Manila and Ho Chi Minh City, marking the carrier’s entry into the Philippine market and further expanding its presence across the Asia-Pacific ahead of the holiday season.
The five-times-weekly service provides Filipinos with a new option to access Vietnam’s commercial and cultural hub while supporting tourism, cultural exchange, and economic activity between the two countries.
Flight VJ859 from Manila leaves at 3:45 a.m. and arrives in Ho Chi Minh at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
Flight VJ858 from Ho Chi Minh leaves at 23:05 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Manila the next day at 2:50 a.m.
To mark the route’s opening and the year-end travel period, Vietjet rolled out its “Thank Yourself” promotion across its network, including the new Manila-Ho Chi Minh service.
Special offers available from November 24-30 include a 100% discount on Eco-class base fares for travel from January 5 to May 27, 2026, using the promo code THANKME when booking through the airline’s website or mobile app.
Eco passengers on the Manila-Ho Chi Minh route will also enjoy complimentary 20-kilogram checked baggage from January 5-28, and from May 4-28, 2026, while international passengers flying to Vietnam may claim a free eSIM (with 500MB of high-speed data, valid for 31 days) with bookings made until December 31, or while supplies last.
The inaugural flights were celebrated at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport, greeted by travelers and local communities, attended by Miss Cosmo 2024 Ketut Permata Juliastrid Sari and Miss Cosmo Philippines 2025 Chelsea Fernandez.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s busiest gateway, offers travelers a mix of historical attractions and modern experiences, from Nguyen Hue Walking Street and the Notre Dame Cathedral to Ben Thanh Market and the city’s well-known street-food culture. The city also serves as a connecting hub to Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hue, and other Asia-Pacific destinations through Vietjet’s network.
The airline said passengers can expect service aboard its modern, fuel-efficient fleet, with in-flight meal options including Vietnamese dishes such as pho and banh mi, and special cultural performances on select flights.
