Green GSM is backed by a strategic partnership with VinFast, V-Green, and BDO Unibank to scale EV mobility in the Philippines
A fleet of 500 electric taxis from Vietnam’s VinFast, operated by Green GSM, docked at the Port of Davao in late October, signaling a major step in the city’s drive toward sustainable public transportation.
The shipment follows the successful launch of the Maligaya E-Taxi pilot in September.
The VinFast units, similar to the VF 5 and VF 6 models, are equipped with long-range lithium batteries capable of up to 380 kilometers per charge, fast-charging systems, and zero-emission, low-noise performance.
Designed for urban operations, the compact vehicles aim to reduce carbon emissions, lower operating costs, and improve passenger experience across Davao’s key transport corridors.
The rollout supports Davao’s push for sustainable, modern public transport and clean energy adoption.
The project is backed by a strategic partnership between VinFast Philippines, V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines Inc., and Green GSM, with financing support from BDO Unibank. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure nationwide.
Last September, VinFast, V-Green, and Green GSM Philippines signed a strategic partnership with BDO Unibank to accelerate electric mobility in the country.
Under the agreement, the three companies will tap BDO’s financial services, including cash management, leasing, and insurance, to support EV adoption and infrastructure rollout. The partnership aims to scale operations, expand access to electric vehicles, and fast-track the Philippines’ shift to cleaner transport.
VinFast Philippines, a unit of Vietnam’s Vingroup, leads EV manufacturing; V-Green focuses on charging infrastructure; and Green GSM operates the country’s first all-electric taxi fleet.
