Virtus Projects and Global Logistics, Inc. has delivered 104 train cars out of 240 units for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line-1 South Cavite Extension project.

Virtus, a logistics solutions provider for heavylift and odd-size cargo handling and deliveries, manages the onshore portion of the project, from receiving train cars at the Port of Manila to customs clearing, delivery and unloading of the train cars onto the rail track.

The extension project will extend the existing LRT Line-1 system from Baclaran, Parañaque to Bacoor, Cavite, effectively reducing travel time between the two areas to just 25 minutes from the current 1.5 hours. Delivery of the fourth-generation train cars is estimated to be completed by the middle of 2022.
