Taiwanese ocean carrier Wan Hai Lines intends to launch two trans-Pacific services in April through a vessel sharing agreement (VSA).

It also plans to offer another one on the same trade lane through a slot exchange deal.

The company, which did not identify its VSA partner, said one of the two services, called CP1, will cover the South China trade and use 8,000-TEU vessels.

The other, the CP2, will serve the North-Central China loop and deploy 5,500-TEU vessels.

Each swing will be serviced by six ships and have a six-week turnaround.

The two services are expected to begin operation in early April.

CP1 has a service route of Xiamen, Nansha, Hong Kong, Yantian, Long Beach, Oakland, and Xiamen.

CP2 has a port rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Qingdao.

Apart from these, the box liner will have additional trans-Pacific service coverage through a slot exchange. The new CP3’s port rotation is Fuzhou, Nansha, Hong Kong, Yantian, Xiamen, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Fuzhou.
